Welcome to the website of the Bameka Community in America
We are embarking on a website project for the Bameka Community in America.
Our goal is to create a modern, user-friendly and dynamic website that would reflect Bameka charm and image as a whole, while also serving as a powerful tool for communication, development, promotion and community engagement.
We aim to attract both native and foreign partners.

Who are we?
The Bameka Community in America Inc is a 501(c)(3) registered non-profit organization comprised of Bameka elements in North America who came together in 2016 to form an association for the purpose of finding the possibility of advancing the socioeconomic and cultural development of the Bameka community at home and abroad. Our mission focuses on assisting the indigenous people of Bameka in areas such as Education, Economic Development, Health, and Social Services. Click here to learn more about Bameka.
During his first official visit to the United States of America on the occasion of the fifth Annual Convention of the Bameka people in America, HRH Jean Raymond Takoukam, King of the Bameka people, expressed the wish to have an official representative through whom he could easily communicate with his people. Community members then met and "arrested" the first-ever Head of Bameka Community in America, and HRH the King commissioned him during the Convention before returning to Cameroon. Governments face various challenges and constraints while trying to meet the needs of communities. Therefore, BCA views its mission as imperative to render assistance in accelerating growth in developing communities, including those in Cameroon and beyond.
It is our fervent belief that the collaborative efforts of many can put diverse resources to the best possible use, thereby leading to the successful community development that is so desperately needed in many areas.
BCA primarily provides services to underprivileged communities in Bameka. Poverty remains widespread in Bameka, where a high percentage of people still live on less than $1 a day as of today.
Our organization is dedicated to working with local communities to promote social and economic growth. We support five key areas of community development:
-
Economic
-
Education
-
Environment
-
Health
-
Water
One of our goals is to develop the local capacity for leadership and ongoing development that will stabilize and sustain a growing community and allow the community to address internal issues and implement solutions that combat both economic and spiritual poverty. We partner with individuals, institutions, and organizations and pool our resources, assets, and expertise to create self-sustaining communities that can continue to develop organically.
To achieve this goal, financial contributions will be solicited from our members, as well as external organizations.
PARTNER WITH US
BCA is also looking for partners who want to help us reduce poverty in Bameka. Our primary mission is to develop the local capacity for ongoing leadership and development that will accomplish sustainable community-led solutions, thereby providing an ongoing solution to economic and spiritual poverty.
BCA is currently partnering with CODEMUNKA and Kaah Ndeh Munka to support sustainable development projects in Bameka. Click here to learn more about CODEMUNKA.
ARGMIFI-USA, a non-profit social organization based in Maryland, USA, has offered to sponsor extra classes for all Bameka students enrolled in official examinations this academic year. We hope this initiative will continue next year and beyond.
BCA has a list of projects designed by CODEMUNKA and Ka'a Ndeh Mu'nka, or that may be suggested by a specific donor. Click here to learn more about Ka'a Ndeh Mu'nka.
We are specifically looking for help in the following areas:
-

-
Fund Raising Opportunities: Offer your support by contacting charitable trusts and philanthropists in an effort to raise funds. Help organize fundraising events. Help search for existing government funding opportunities and other fundraising sources.
-
Water Development: Help support safe drinking water in communities by drilling boreholes, tapping springs, and constructing wells. Other environmental development needs include improving farming methods, animal husbandry, wine tapping practices, and environmental protection.
